Guest Peter M Fallert
I just purchased today at a swap meet a Stromberg aerotype carb for $15. It fits the manifold on my 38 Buick, but it doesn't seem to have an automotive application.since it has no choke plate (the bosses have not been drilled for the shaft). The number stamped below the idle screws are382260 R 8. Does anyone know the application of this carb, and is it only good for parts? Thanks, Peter
Guest prs519
I once had a 37 Limited, and purchased a new carburetor which was an Aerodyne. It seems like it too, had differences which made me wonder what its originalprovenance was. WAG, but I wonder if these had some military application. The feature where the Aerodyne word came from was, I believe, a reference to the fact that the float level was made in such a way as to be independent of the angle of tilt of the carb. I do not think it would fly upside down, though.
