1926 Studebaker Hardtop Duplex coupe build.

Starting to build my Canadian 1926 Studebaker Duplex Hardtop Coupe build. Bougth the car last year and took a long time to research it. Found out that there were only 96 of these made in Canada with the 2nd version of the dash thanks to several contributors here. The problem was that when I bought the car it was pony a shell. Frame and body only. Everything else had been stripped out of it over the last few decades. Either I try to find very rare parts or do a resto mod on this car. As luck would have it I answer an ad in Kijiji in my home town. Someone was selling the complete drivetrain out of a 1927 Studebaker Dictator that had been turned into a pick up truck back in the day. After replying I met with Kyle who had brought the truck from Saskatchewan, Canada to Calgary. His truck was in good shape but lacking only the interior. I bought his complete drivetrain and we ended up working together at my work place to remove all the parts he did not want which, it turned out, I needed. A match made in heaven. It seems to be that his truck was, in fact, a 1926 Studebaker Standard Six based on information I received from knowledgeable members on this site.

today we met again to start to dismantle the 1926 truck so that my friends project could start. He will do a rest mod on his 1926 truck while eI will take any parts he discards for use on my 1926 Hardtop Coupe build. Pics attached show what we accomplished today on a warm October day in Alberta, Canada.

We power washed the truck before we started to strip it of parts.

I also sandblasted the bare frame on my duplex coupe last week. I found some typical stress cracks and saw the extent of the original repairs to the left front frame horn.

Thank you. Your car looks so complete. Have you had it a long time? Mine has sat for a year as I tried to research parts and all the missing wood etc. If I had not come across a local parts car I might have either rodded the coupe or left it to sit another few years. Now I am feeling encouraged to get this coupe on the road. My challenge is also finding reference material and photos to rebuilt/replace all the missing parts.
