Drawings returned after 30+ years!

Recommended Posts

Years ago, I was in the Chrysler club in San Diego. I used to draw covers for the newsletter. I had been sending them to the editor, Marv James. He is the owner of the 1931 Chrysler roadster that Peggy and I rode in from our wedding site in Presidio Park to the clubhouse for the Horseless Carriage Club. It is also the first set of drawings here. Marv just reconnected with me (after about 30 years) by finding my name on the Antique Automobile Club of America's website. He just sent back all of my original pencil cover drawings!! WOW!!!!!! Thank you sooooo much, Marv. Now THAT is what I call a good friend.

I zoomed in on your sketches, and they show a

perfect proportion! Be sure to keep up your

excellent talent!

Have you made note cards out of any of them?

Our club was looking for good automotive note cards

for a thank-you note, and could find only Christmas cards.

Thank you for the compliments! I have made note cards and Christmas cards out of some of my drawings, but I could not seem to sell many. I also made stationary with 12 printed, 6 blank and 12 envelopes for what I thought was a reasonable price (around $5.00 if I remember correctly). I would try to sell them at swap meets and yard sales, but nobody seemed very interested. That was 35 years ago. Maybe I should try it again and sell them here....

John....I would be happy to make up some note cards for your club. Any particular makes or models that you prefer??

John

No preference to which cars--just what you feel is your

best artwork. The Chrysler illustrated in Posting #4 is

especially well done, but you undoubtedly have more.

I will look through my artwork and dig up the original. That was my first pen & ink drawing.

John....I found my car artwork, so I will look into card making for your club. I actually found a lot that I had forgotten that I had drawn. Can any of you spot the odd Chrysler?
