I rescued this older restored truck from a storage yard in Long Beach California many years ago. The story goes that it was destined for a boat to South America but somehow was left behind. Originally owned by Tom Monaghan of Domino Pizza fame it was used to ferry people around his petting farm in Michigan- or so the story goes. This 152” wheelbase ton and a half stake bed truck is powered by a freshly rebuilt 94 hp 226 cubic inch Commander engine with 0 miles on it and fitted with a 6V alternator. Backed by the rebuilt T9 4 speed crash box with an integrated drum emergency brake leading to the dualie axle with 6:61 gears. It has had new brake linings and rebuilt wheel cylinders. The truck rides on 8.25 by 20 Budde wheels. Tires show a lot of tread although there is surface cracking on the sidewalls of the front tires. The interior has been upgraded but not restored- new seat upholstery, refinished dash, rebuilt gauge cluster and new rubber floor mat.

The truck has been rewired with period correct cloth covered wire loom from YnZ .

It runs smoothly and quietly. It was recently brought out of storage after 6 years

From the photos (http://s1372.photobucket.com/user/mbmnsmith/library/?sort=2&page=1) you can see it needs paint . Not shown very well is the condition of the stake sides and wooden bed. They have been a happy home for termites over the years and need total replacement. The original stake side hardware is included.

This is a solid sturdy and reliable truck- just needing the woodwork done and new paint applied (although I prefer the patina) this wonderful old truck is ready for years of use. Asking price is 5000.00 and is located in Los Angeles. Buyer must arrange pickup. Contact Martin at mbmnsmith@earthlink.net or 310.666.1268
