uh6077
My 41 2 door Deluxe has wood "trim" decals on the dash and doors that appear to be original. They have shrunk and winkled badly over the 73 so I would like to replace them. Does anyone know if they were originally just big decals, painted on or anything else? The car seems mostly original so anything that I replace I want to make sure it stays correct. Thanks
Guest DeSoto32
It is probably the factory woodgraining. It is a base coat with an inked silkscreened pattern laid on top and then lacquered. Check out woodgraining.com. You can probably find the color and pattern there. You can do it yourself or hire someone for $2-$5K to do all the woodgrain in your car...I just re did my 32- there's a thread about it on the De Soto site: www.desoto.org
uh6077
You are probably right about it being the original lacquer. Doing myself is a much better option since $2-5K is not in the budget.
