What type of car?

What type of car is this? Picture from Norway (1947).

1938 Ford?

Thanks! It sure looks like one. Any particular reason for the year? It was used as a cab, so possibly a 4 door?

If it was a cab I would guess it's a DeLuxe Fordor. The year was just the first that came to mind with that grille. Others may be able to narrow down a year better than I.

The other choice is the 1939 Ford Standard. See photo.

I always get those two mixed up.

From the front you can pick them by the shape of the upper corners of the grille.

The 39 has a chrome strip in the middle of the hood that does not seem to be on the car in question, so I would guess 38.

Yes there is no doubt that the original pic is a '38.

Thank you very much for that information. Now I know what the differences are.

Another, quicker, way to tell the difference between the 1938 DELUXE and a 1939 Standard is the V8 in the center grill strip.

The '39 Standard has a split "V8", See "commodore's" photo and the 1938 Deluxe has a single "V8". See my photo. My '38 piece has been sold.
