knee-action
Check out the 1932 Chevrolet Cabriolet on the street scene postcard at eBay item 131308468708. Does anyone recognize those wheels? My first thought was General Jumbo, but the center sections don't look right.
keiser31
They look sort of like 1934 wheels, to me.
Dave Mellor NJ
I think they're 35-36 artillery wheels.
nzcarnerd
1935-36 Chevs were on 17s. These wheels look to be the same or smaller than those on the post war Chev on the left which would be on 16s. I think they may be some sort of aftermarket wheels.
Dave Henderson
General Jumbos?
keiser31
General Jumbos?Nope. General Jumbos have actual spokes. The wheels in question are stamped steel.
Dave Henderson
John, I beg to differ, google "General Jumbo wheels" They were most often seen on EV8 Fords
keiser31
John, I beg to differ, google "General Jumbo wheels" They were most often seen on EV8 FordsI am not seeing what you are seeing. I guess what I meant was that the GJ wheels look more like real spokes and the others are basically scalloped. When I click on the scalloped wheels, they tell me that they are Kelsey Hayes or some other maker. Dave Henderson
John, The General Jumbos were stamped steel wheels. "Actual spokes" are wire spokes. There were variations in the configurations of aftermarket accessory wheels depending on the manufacturer. The "post war chev on the left" is actually pre-war, a '41. 1 Raggedy Ride
Greetings, I am new to your site, and the wheels in question, are not General Jumbo's, which were made with both 5 & 6 bolt hole patterns....I believe they could be what was termed as "changeover" wheels......I have some 16" like those, which were made by Kelsey-Hayes, as was stated earlier...... Thank You .....
