Don't know if its the same or not - but - I have a 48 Fleetmaster. My hand throttle cable is mounted to a bracket and clamp on the side of the carb facing the firewall. The wire inside the cable goes through the hole in the rod that works the carb 's throttle arm. Then there's a stop with a set screw on the end of the wire to retain it.

Thanks for the information, that's the way i thought it might go. Do you really need that throttle cable, i would think that was something to have in the winter when the engine was cold. Do you use your?

Yes, I use mine. I live in hills - so I use the hand throttle to get started at red lights when I'm going uphill. Keeps me from rolling backwards into some idiot setting 3 inches from my back bumper.
