Guest Kitskaboodle
It's your Cruise (vacuum) canister. Looks like a massively large black Contact pill. Strangely enough, this was missing on my car when I bought it. . Kit
Guest speegt
thank you so much , well my cruise works in the other car with out this , I guess they got the vacuum from another place .
Guest PontiacDude210
If you pull the vac line off that right after running the car, it will hiss for like 20 seconds. I would assume the cruise would run without it but perhaps not kick up as fast on accel function and maybe not retain speed going up hill. Just a thought. Ronnie
As I said earlier it is the vacuum reserve tank. It's not only for the cruise control. It also helps the heat & air controls work properly.
padgett
Without it on a hard climb up a long grade the a/c might switch to defrost. Turbos are worse.
KDirk
Don't discard it. Just remember, as much as GM obsessed over pinching pennies, they would not put parts on a car that weren't neccessary.KDirk
