1934-1936 green diamond engine color

Recommended Posts

I've seen various photos of restored "green diamond" engines, understandably painted green. I recently acquired, however, a slightly used, 213 cylinder head with a fair amount of original paint remaining. It's black. Could it be that the correct color for the green diamond engine is actually black?

Here are the correct order of colors for the International engines, from the oldest (green Diamond) on up for several years. The black diamond was a OHV engine.

The green diamond was before the silver diamond.

There was a silver diamond 220 overhead valve. Not sure if there were any bigger silver diamond engines or not.

The blue diamond was 240 and 264 cu inch.

Black diamonds were 282 and 308 cu inch.

Red diamonds were 372 406 450 and 501 cu inch. I think that these are correct. If not someone on here will correct me.
