'69 Riviera Control Arm Bumpers - Source?

Hi Folks,

a few days ago I disassembled the complete front suspension of my '69 Riviera to sandblast and powdercoat all parts and replace the bushings and ball joints. The control arm bumpers need to be replaced as well but finding the right parts is not as easy as I thought. I need the upper and lower ones.

Any idea where to find them or which bumpers from other models would fit?

Thanks from Germany,

Alexander

P.S. Attached some pictures of the current status of the car and the bumpers.

Guest CARS, Inc.

Alexander,

We make the upper bumper. It can be found here:

http://www.oldbuickparts.com/catalog/1963-up-riviera-group-suspension-control-arm-bumper-1963-76-riviera-upper-p-1372.html

The lower bumper is missing amongst the hobby. Can you give us a picture/dimensions of the mounting tab? I may be able to match it up with something we currently have on the shelf.

Hi Jeff,

thanks for your reply. Good timing - I am currently compiling a list of stuff that I want to order from you, right now a little more than a dozen items. Would be nice if I could add not only the upper but also the lower control arm bumpers.

The lower bumpers get mounted exactly like the upper ones by pushing them trough an approximately 1 1/2" slot. Please see the attached picture:

Thanks,

Alexander

P.S. Any chance that you have a forgotten '69 woodgrain kit somewhere on your shelves? Greg Setter quit making them a little too early for me.

Hello everybody,

the only press in type bumper for the lower control arms that I can find is Moog Part No 6607. See: http://www.moog-suspension-parts.com/proddetail.asp?prod=MOOG-K6607

It certainly looks right but since the website's compatibility overview only lists trucks, I have my doubts that it will actually fit.

Anybody out there who replaced the lower bumpers and knows where to find the correct parts?

Thanks again,

Alexander
