1932 Pontiac - Brake cable shield?

Does anybody know who supplies the flexible shield (pictured below) that goes over the 3/16" brake cable on my 1932 Pontiac. The shield diameter is 9/16". I am sure this was a common material for mechanical brakes. The pieces for the front brakes have broken due to flexing as the wheels turn. Again...probably a very common problem.

Screen door springs are still available from your local hardware store or home improvement store. A lot of early Pontiac parts were the same as Chevrolet. A front brake cable for a 1932 Chevrolet is available from The Filling Station. See link and go page 240. Will this fit your Pontiac?

Yes, the Filling Station is the first place I look. I was at a car show today and saw some '32 Chevies and it looks like the shield would work but that would be it. The cable setup is completely different. The idea of using a spring is an interesting one, though.

Thanks for all the advice.
