bluefoxamazone Posted September 2, 2014 Share Posted September 2, 2014 hi, this may sound very stupid but this is my first car with gear shifter on the steering column. :confused:Can someone explain to me the exact position of all gears?Neutral is easy to find but where is 1st, 2nd and 3th gear located as well as reverse...thanks for explaining! Toward you (to the steering wheel) and up will get you reverse.Toward you (to the steering wheel) and down will get you first.Away from you (to the dash) and up will get you second.Away from you (to the dash) and down will get you third.The cars I learned on and drove were spring loaded in the "away from you" position.Been 40 years since I've driven a column shift, it might be fun to relive old muscle memories someday...
