Is this a 36 Buick?

Greetings,

I recently discovered a picture of my Grandmother's first car after she passed and I'm trying to determine exactly what it is. I think it may be either a 1936 Buick Century or a Cadillac lasalle.

Any help determining would be greatly appreciated.

Where was the photo taken? USA?

The photo was taken in Baton Rouge, LA probably in the early 1940s. Agree on it being GM but thought 1936 because the running board trim goes all the way forward to the front wheel opening and in later years it stops at the back of the fender.

It's not a 36 Buick Century.

Pretty sure your second option - 1936 LaSalle is correct ( same body as 36 Buick Century )

It is a 1936 Cadillac, not a LaSalle. The hood sides are different.

The big vent windows were common to Cadillac, maybe LaSalle. The side molding is wider/thicker in the door section than on the hood... 36 was the last year for that.... I agree it is a 36
