As per an earlier "TWOZ" publication( don't have the # handy) ; there were several distinct differences. The blocks were cast differently, ie; a "boss" was cast into the bell housing

area( left side ?).This was to hold components for the "liquidmatic Trans. The intake manifold was different and again this was written up in an earlier "TWOZ" . You show the intake

manifold gasket propped up , this may show different exhaust gas routing for preheating the carb. Standard V12 blocks/manifolds have this. This is all I can gather from the small

If the Lincoln Liquimatic changes to the block were similar to the Mercury block changes, the stock 3-speed trans could not be hooked up the the block. This engine is shown with the 3-speed trans attached. The vacuum controls for the Liquimatic were on the passenger side of the engine and trans. Only the driver's side is shown in the photos.
