Guest Killowatt Posted August 23, 2014 Share Posted August 23, 2014 I have a 21 stud V8 motor the fuel pump rod moves up and down about 1/4" is this correct.I installed a new pump and it would starve for gas at high RPM but now it wont pump fuel at all. 19tom40 Posted August 24, 2014 Share Posted August 24, 2014 1/4" travel for the pushrod is correct. I suspect that the fuel line from the tank is plugged. They rust on the inside as well as accumulate rust from the tank. The flex line may also be be bad. The ethanol in the gas tend to make the older hoses swell up inside and stop the flow of the fuel.
