cjp69
They are checking to see if the car has the correct block, I suspect it doesn't, as they said it had a single 4 bbl. It does however have code 624 interior.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Buick-Riviera-Riviera-Gran-Sport-1965-Buick-Riviera-Gran-Sport-/171428415171?forcerrptr=true&hash=item27e9ee06c3&item=171428415171&pt=US_Cars_Trucks
cjp69
Engine is an LT motor, does not match the VIN of the car.
RivNut
Is this what you'd call a Gran Sport "in name only?" No guts; no glory.

MitchThat depends on whether you are just hanging out with him as a friend to have fun with, or if u are planning on selling him later or investing a lot in him. RivNut
Might not matter so much if the numbers didn't match, but otherwise this one is just a single four barrel '65 Riviera. If all you had to do was clone a Riv with aftermarket badges and it would be considered a Gran Sport, then there would be more Gran Sports on the road than were actually produced. When you hear the word Gran Sport, what's the first thing that comes to mind? For Mitch it would probably be the plaque on the glove box; for the rest of us, it's probably the dual four barrel motor (maybe even without the X code.) RivNut
Details?Keep in mind that I don't fit the image of a typical used car buyer. As a used car manager once told me. "As I tell my salesmen, 'There's an ass for every seat'." Edited August 25, 2014 by RivNut (see edit history)
