1926 Buick fuel Line. Replace or not?

Recommended Posts

Having a new fuel tank fabricated due to leakage and extensive corrosion of the original tank.

The original "brass" fuel line appears to be sound and still has the original black paint. However, hard to tell what it is like internally.

My options are a. leave it alone. b. attempt to clean it internal via air/solvent. c. replace. If I replace, what type of fuel line material is recommended? The original "brass" looking type tubing does not appear to be available.

The car was running prior to tank removal.

Thanks,

Bob

Thanks for the replies and advice, Pete and Leif. What a great way to network on restoring and maintaining our prewar Buicks!

I set up a means to reverse blow compressed air and acetone backwards through the fuel line. Lots of black and particles at first. To my astonishment, it began to clean up after several blows.icon7.png
