Guest 38 Caddy Bob
Presently have a "homemade" oil system mounted on firewal that is hard to service and find replacement filters.Looking to replace it with somewhat compatible "in place" system.Present filter element is an Atlas N-21 with no replacements to be found.Filter system attached. Thanks, Bob Martin
auburnseeker
They sell those beehive style oil filters for hot rods which would bolt in place with the right bracket. They take a cartridge that seems to be available at most parts stores. You could paint it all black if you didn't like the polished aluminum look. Looks like it has the same type of hose connections. cahartley
This one looks the same as the one on my 235 L6 '59 Chevy. It uses a readily available C4 Fram element. This particular one mounts to the manifold with a couple u-bolts......very easily adaptable to wherever you want it....... auburnseeker
Fram and Purolator made similar firewall mount filter assemblies. I think you will find a bunch on ebay if you do a search for them. Many are NOS in the box. I think they average 40.00-80.00 The original AC ones with Specific Chevy application can command 200.00-400.
JACK M
I have this NOS setup. Make me an offer.
Guest 38 Caddy Bob
Can you tell me center to center bolt hole measurement for mounting comparison on my Caddy firewlllThanks, looks promising if a fit. JACK M
I think it is supposed to mount to a straight type manifold like cahartley shows, or a pipe of some kind. If that is the case it would take 2 1/4" U-bolts and are 3 3/4" apart.I suppose the brackets could be modified to fit most anywhere. The plumbing looks just like what he shows as well. JACK M
I should clarify, they would require two, 2 1/4" radius U-bolts. Per you question, the holes are 2 1/14 apart up and down and the bracket centers are 3 1/4 apart.I would sell for less than $50.Please email if interested.capyjack@comcast.net
