1934 Rocker Panels

Hi guys,

I have purchased a 1934 Hupmobile which has the same body as the Fords. This one is a 4 door sedan and I am trying to figure out the rocker panels which are about 1 1/2" tall and quite rusted in my case. Do they have a back to them or are they just tack welded on like an apron? I've felt all along mine and not found any backing but it seems odd that they wouldn't have anything.

Could somebody please let me know if there is supposed to be a backing of some sort and post pictures if possible?

They make reproductions of the Ford panels, try Goggling them and ask the supplier the same question.
