Povertycove
On a Franklin tour in upstate NY recently, my wife and I visited the Jefferson County Historical Museum to see its Saxon. It was restored from a pile of farm rust ( the story can be found on saxonmotorcars.com website). Elliott is sure that this is a model B, and not a 1914, as the museum has posted. Povertycove
More precisely, Elliott believes this is a model 14, with a very late model B engine. I posted a photo of the rear deck because it seems very odd to me. I suspect it was made up as part of the restoration.
trimacar
Is this the museum in Watertown that also has a Babcock touring, circa 1910?
Povertycove
The Saxon and the Babcock sit side-by-side. The Babcock is really a magnificent restoration, just gorgeous.
trimacar
Thought so...I had the privilege of working on the Babcock when it was restored by White Post, did the interior and top....it was and is quite a car.....if you have any pictures of it would appreciate seeing them... Povertycove
Sorry, we didn't take pictures of the Babcock, but I did notice the extraordinary upholstery. You should be very proud of that job!
trimacar
thanks!
