Demountable Rim Wheel Bolts

I have several Dodge Brothers Trucks from 30 through 32. I have been looking for rim clamp bolts for my 31 for some time with no luck. I have been thinking of having some made. However, have not been able to determine exactly what the hardness / strength of the originals may have been. I am guessing grade 8 in todays standards, but that is just a guess. Anyone know what the originals demountable rim clamp bolts were made to? I know they still make some of the Ford sizes, but they are either too short or two long for my truck. I tried threading some longer TT Truck bolts, but no die I had would touch the stuff. Help.

Interesting topic as I in process of making my own. I used 7/16" grade 8 fine thread and welded our the head with a washer behind with bent lip.

Also made a template for angle and the head shape.

Can send a pic if you are interested!!
