Kenneth Stewart
I clean the old grease up and replace it with new grease. Looked at the brushes and they looked good. Put back together and hooked up to 6 volts and work as it should. Put it back on the car and it work for a bit. Then locked up again. I am lost what to do. I need help on this. Did get the horn working today. I do need a horn relay and have not check at NAPA for a new one as yet.
nvonada
Locked up as in you can't turn it at all? Or just does not turn under power? Is it drawing current when this happens? What is the voltage at the motor? Does it move with the transmission disconnected? Without systematic troubleshooting we are all just guessing. My guess is a bad ground
Kenneth Stewart
Did find that the springs that push against the brushes had collapsed not good contact. Will see if that the problem. Now to find springs that will work.
