Guest rwolf
Got engine to spin freely but I'm having a problem with the starter/generator. The starter motor spins but when the flywheel is engaged ( manually) it stops. This is the 4cly engine in a 24 Buick. Brushes go up and down and make good contact. Starter brush is engaged . Is it it possible that the windings can not take the extra power to start the engine or what could it be?

Guest rwolf
The Engine is spinning like it should. I don't know what I did but it's working . Tomorrow I will time it and it should start. Guest norwayspruce1952
Yes sounds like a bad battery connection to ground or starter motor--seen this many times. I can come and go. Check all connections and clean.Kevin KellyIowa
