Guest zeke5551
I recently bought what I was told was a 1926 Chrysler Model 58. When I picked the car up, I only got a bill of sale with the promise they would mail me the title. That was a couple of weeks ago. Anyways, I'm trying to actually find out what it is, so here's what I have; 4 cylinder, manual brakes in rear only, body by Fisher. There is a body id tag on the firewall with body serial numbers and order number, but this doesn't match with the vin numbers published for a 1926. Is the the car vin number stamped elswhere or engine numbers? Could this car be a 1925 1/2? Somewhere I read that early 1925 the 4 cylinder cars where Maxwells and late 1925 the car was a Chrysler. It has Chrysler badging and wheel hub covers. Is the engine a Chrysler or Maxwell? If I can find the actual vin numbers, I can license the car with a bill of sale. I sure could use some expert help.
