My father started his RAF flying training in Florida in 1941/2 and he bought a share in this car. Can anyone identify it for me? Thank you in anticipation.

Thank you for that. They bought it for US$125 (£31) and later sold for US$75 (£18), according to one of his letters home. Apparently, they were stopped by a Florida policeman who found they had no papers, but let them off when they promised to "shoot down a couple of Messerschmitts" for him. Those were the days!

Can you suggest where I can find more about it? I could find nothing on http://www.thehenryford.org/.

Robert - Thank you for posting the photo. It is an awesome car. It looks like a 1933 Ford Deluxe or a Fordor to me. But I am a rookie in relationship to folks like Mr. John (Keiser31), but that looks like a door handle by your Dads right hip.

Go to Google Images for fun, and search

1933 Ford

Hudson

Studebaker

Chrysler

Desoto

Packard

and any other manufacturer you can think of. It was a golden era when very beautiful cars were sold.

Thanks again,
