A couple of pictures just for fun!!

Here's a couple of pictures from the Austin, Pa. Flood of 1911 . My family and I visited there last weekend and I found these two of cars that were in the flood. Anyone want to take a stab at identifying them???

The first one is a 1910 Cadillac model 30 touring. The second is a 1910 Oakland unsure of the model.

You must mean that WAS a Cadillac and WAS an Oakland.

looking through that database of photos I seen some very interesting shots of that flood event.

I'm no civil engineer but when viewing that landscape it amazes me that they built in that valley to begin with.... that thing has flood plain written all over it ! What a shame for those that had to encounter the event but it sure seemed uncalled for from what I could tell. Still neat to see the old photos, it really gives you an idea of the power of that event.

I know that this was a great tragedy for many people. Nevertheless, my thought when I saw the first picture with the piano in it, along with the wrecked car and piles of debris, was that it looked like the last scene out of a Laurel and Hardy movie.
