I HAVE THIS UNUSUALLY MOUNTED TAIL LIGHT - WHAT IS IT ?

I have this tail light, where the mount seems to go through the fender or body sheet metal. The old grommet is still attached.

Does anyone know what it is ?

I have an extra tail-light body to go with it. The extra body has a good license lens.

Both bodies marked, "VENDETTE".

Thank you,

I thought of that, but the name on the bucket, "VEDETTE" is on the top, as shown.

I guess that the car mfg. could have bought a generic light and then mounted it upside down.

What car had the light bracket go through sheet metal ?

I want to thank you for all your help. I have a trove of antique car parts, that I hope to get back on the road again.

Thank you,

I believe that it, almost, has to be off of a R/H drive car, unless it hangs down low. ?????

Maybe, I'll post it in the European section.

Thank you,

I want to thank you for identifying my weird tail light. I did not even consider, it being bent, perhaps, to fit another car. Things, like that, were done, back in the day. They call those, "farmer fixes".

I don't want to sell the license lens, only. Someone will probably need that, too, to buy the complete outfit. Just the shipping, on the unit, would be too expensive to send it to you in Zimbabwe.

Thank you,
