A trunk handle

Does anyone have any ideas?

It's a rumble seat handle, I believe. They have a shorter post than a trunk or door handle.

Some cars rumble lids had the long shaft handle and the trunk a shorter one. It boils down to how the lock mechanisms were designed for the 2 arrangements. . Pictured are Model A Ford handles, the long one being the rumble lid's.

An education is to be had here. I suspect we can agree it is not a door handle.
