That will be the day when you can get them from the china outfits -- for a Riviera Nut -- you haven't given very good

advice!!!!!! Those ROTORS have been DEAD DEAD DEAD for over 30 years --- you can get an ignition rotor from the cheese stores --- big deal..... A REAL MAN is needed for DISC BRAKE HUB & ROTOR ASSEMBLIES.....

That REAL MAN is me...........

Ya takes what ya can get. If you can't find American, I'm guessing that your car will be sitting for quite a while. Did you even check the Rockauto site? I'm confused. The only rotors they show for a '69 Riviera are made by either Raybestos or ACDelco. Oh yeah, those must be from their Chinese suppliers as well. Hope you enjoy just sitting in your car and dreaming while the rest of us are out driving.

Five years ago, I had a shop searching all over the USA for these rotors, and they came up with nothing. This is why I have a custom 2-piston system on my '67 which employs readily available parts. I had the spindles and NOS Bendix 4-piston calipers. Nobody had the rotors.

Perhaps you and RivNut are good friends, and your just bustin his b$@@s.

Perhaps not.

If not, then lets be clear.

Having read many of his posts over the years, rarely have I witnessed "bad advice"

This one is no exception.

Someone needs parts, someone suggests a source.

Are you trying to say that you sell parts and better ones at that?

If so that is great, but excuse me the name mobile parts does not have the name recognition of any of those that you mock, and a google search yielded no match to brake parts.

Do you sell parts for mobile homes, or is there some connection with brake parts?

if you sell brake parts, where do you advertise?

are you a supporting vendor?

Is there an ad in Riview?

Show us some samples.

i might even have an interest.

i didnt bother googling real man, as I suspect the search results would be off topic.

If you are a vendor, then so state.

If you have superior brake parts what are they and why are they superior?

You saying so is not enough.

if you removed all of the Chinese parts from all that you own, you likely would have things crashing all around you.

I buy AMERICAN as often as I can, but if I were drowning and the only life preserver thrown to me was made in China, I would not toss it aside while awaiting one made in the USA.

To the OP, hope you find suitable rotors!

Marty

If you have gone off your meds I think you might want to consider taking them again!

This is a puzzling post. If you go online several places say they are selling rotors for these cars, yet in my new Hemmings mag a guy wrote

in with a 69 Riviera asking where he could get rotors for his car as they weren't available from anyone.....claimed he had searched for months! Somebody

has to be not telling the truth, and I suspect it is the sellers of these brake rotors that won't really fit after you purchase them. While researching the subject, I found a post in the Buick forum where I guy with a 69 claimed he was able to use 71 model rotors by machining about a tenth of an inch off

the inside surface of the new rotors. he claimed the problem was the off set is different between the two rotors and the inside surface rubs the backing plate unless you turn the inside surface down some.

I wouldn't trust the online listings. The mods to the 71 rotors are likely the only option, other than ripping out the entire system.

I'm satisfied with what I've got in mine, but I did have to get new wheels, as the original Buick steel rallys did not clear the new calipers. The Cragar Keystones just *barely* clear the front edges of the calipers...with about a mm to spare.

I don't think it's fair to bad mouth a product based on hear-say. I've never had a problem with anything I've purchased from Rock Auto. Everything that I've gotten from them has fit as described. Do you personally know the guy who posted his opinion in Hemmings? Do we know anything about the car? Let's be fair until it's a first hand experience.

A good point Ed, I don't know that they don't fit, just seems odd that nobody can find them when they are a mouse click away. The other thing

that is odd is that they are a one year, one model application with an extremely limited market.....seems odd that a non-Buick specialist would tool up to make them. The proof is in the pudding.....the person who inquired should buy a pair and report back with his findings.

Those rotors have been unobtainium FOR YEARS...see post #3, he knows what he speaks of. IF you can find a set of NOS be prepared to pay up...simply a matter of supply versus demand, nothing new,

Using the spindles for the 4-piston calipers, the shop sent them to MP Brakes in North Carolina. They fabricated custom mounting brackets for a set of 2-piston calipers used on the 1999-2004 Cadillac Escalade. The rotors were 12" Bendix used on the 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I ended up selling my NOS 4-piston calipers to the manager at MP Brakes for another project he was doing for another customer.

The new system works great. It was a big improvement over the drums...which I still have if anybody is interested.
