It's a lousy picture, but it looks more like a high school metal shop casting project than a car part. Maybe a few shots of it on a better background and a dollar bill or a ruler next to it

I don't have any more pictures of it next time I go up I'll try to get better ones. I was thinking it may have been part of an ornament or a hinge possibly.

If there was an old Sears catalog in the box it came in, I'm probably right.

Possibly part of a mechanical brake or clutch linkage but I also am leaning toward non-automotive.

I talked to Bruce and he said he thinks it may be part of a 49 olds woody wagon he stripped years ago, but not sure if it was a part of a seat or tailgate or something else. It was with a bunch of parts from that car and it is curved at the end as if it was around something. I put up a picture of some of the parts that it was with.

We are just finishing a '49 Olds Woodie Wagon and I can tell you your part is not from a '49 Olds. However, most of the parts in your first pic are indeed '49 Olds. Are they for sale? Several items we might be interested in.

I can't imagine it having any automotive application. The towel ring holder keiser31 shows, or similar use gets my strong vote, with some kid's high school metal casting project being my second vote.
