Shades of gray

Is the color gray the same shade in a 1990 and 1991 MY (unlike 1989 vs 1990)? Also, was there a design difference in door panels between the two model years (would a 1990 & 1991 door panel be interchangeable)? TIA.

The '88-89s used a darker gray and the '90-91s used the lighter gray.

The door panels were similar but different trim. You can put the trim from the early panels on the later ones and vise versa but the problem is the hole for the switches on the horizontal part of the panel. You can modify the smaller hole on the early panes to accept the larger switch panel of the later cars but not the other way around as the hole would be too big.

So...1990 & 1991 door panels are interchangeable (and same color), correct?
