Guest classic.car.fan
so i have a small issue here. i need to change the oil on my 65 cadillac. it has a 69 cadillac 472 in it. anyway i am missing the original oil dipstick so i can not tell if it's too low or too high. i have a dipstick form my 73 buick in it at the moment. that has a 455. it says it is full with the Buick dipstick. but i am not sure if it is the same. someone said it needs 4 quarts and someone else said 7 because it has a rebuilt engine. thanks
CarlLaFong
Whether it is rebuilt or has 50 million miles on it, it still takes 5 quarts with a new filter

Marty Roth
I believe my 1970 CADILLAC - ALSO HAS 472CI ENGINE TAKES 7 QUARTS INCLUDING THE FILTER - but I may be thinking of the SuburbanSorry for the all-caps - poor typing skills, and must have hit the lock

Guest ashleydaniel2691
I've found that most of the newer takes 7.5 quarts.
