PLEASE ... Identify this car

I am desperately trying to identify this car in an attempt to find the man (my missing grandfather ) -

Known facts:

• He was a mechanic and chauffeur
  
• He was last seen between September 1918 and April 1919
  
• This was MOST probably taken in or around Cleveland, Ohio

Hi Rosemary, It's a great photo. It's definitely a Big Peerless and appears to be quite new when the picture was taken, probably not more than a year or two old. Cars aged rapidly on the rough roads of that era. That would make the time the picture was taken several years before he disappeared. Peerless was one of the leading luxury cars of the day so he must have been working for a prominent person. Have you tried to make contact with the decendants of the people he was working for? {if known} Good luck with your search.

Edward Virkler was still living, alone, in Cleveland in 1922. After that, he seems to fall off of the earth
