Michael Lepak 35725
Can anyone tell me how many leaves there should be in a '31 96 series rear spring? My car sits really high.Mike35726
Bob Engle
1931 96 models had a spring change during the year. The number of leaves ( 8) did not change. The change is the amount of arch in the spring assembly. Up to Frame # 2545207 the arch is 9 1/8 inches. After Frame # 2545207 The arch is 8 1/2 inches. the 96S models have a different spring arch ( 10 1/2") than the 96. Leaf Numbers 5,6,7 are different in the spring assemblies. I don't have specs on the individual leaves. Information is from the Master parts list 1918 to 1932.I hope this helps.Bob Engle
Bob Engle
I forgot to mention that the arch is measured from the centerline of the spring assembly to the top of leaf. This would be on an unloaded spring assembly.Bob Engle
Michael Lepak 35725
Thank you Bob.This helps greatly, as my car has 11 leaves. It was used as a wrecker in the early 60's, I am restoring it to its original condition. Thank you,Mike Lepak
