Guest DaveAikins
Hi everyone! I had posted this car in a sale thread about a year ago, but decided to hang on to it and see if I could fix some of the minor things that were wrong with it (like the heater and wiper motor). Thankfully, I was able to get the parts needed so I'm very happy to list this again for sale. I have to say, it was really fun working on this with a good friend of mine who knows his way around a car. Sadly, I still have to try to say goodbye and sell it. I just don't have the time to enjoy it, and waaay too many other hobbies!Anyway, it's a 1960 Buick Lesabre 4 door hard-top. It has approximately 78,000 mies on it, and is located in Columbus Ohio (43081). The exterior looks pretty good, with some bubbling/rust on the lower edges of the sides, and signs of an old restoration spot on the passenger side near the front door. The interior carpet and seat upholstery really need to be restored, but the interior is still fine for driving around town. There is a slit ATF drip from the transmission seal. The engine is the standard 364.Other than that, I don't tend to drive it that much but it starts up and drives around town just fine! I'm asking $5000 for it, but I'm more than willing to discuss any serious offers.I have the title as well as the Preliminary Chassis Service Manual and the larger Chasis Service Manual. If anyone is interested and would like more info and more pictures, please email me at daikins@columbus.rr.com Edited July 21, 2014 by DaveAikins (see edit history)
Smartin
I will be in Columbus on July 30. Like I mentioned on Facebook, I would love a chance at the car if it is still available. Looks like it has lots of potential! We will be staying in Newark/Heath.
Guest DaveAikins
Great! I'm in Westerville, a fairly simple 35 minute drive west on 161 from Newark. We'll keep in touch!

Guest DaveAikins
Hey Tom- Thanks! Keep an eye out for an email. As for the car- I've ordered a new oil pan gasket for the transmission. I'm hoping that will solve the slight leak of transmission fluid.
Guest DaveAikins
Just a quick update- the parking brake has been adjusted and is in great shape. The transmission has been given a new oil pan bracket to stop some leaking, but there appears to be a slight leak from the transmission seal. I also have some photos of the underside of the car if anyone is interested. There is a section on the passenger side where the frame/inner rocker has separated from the body mount due to rust(?). See the photo for a comparison between the driver and passenger side. The brakes appear to be at 70%. Please note that while the tires still hold air and look good, they are at least 25 years old and I'd imagine would be in need of replacing. Thanks!
