1953 pontiac chieftain custom catalina's instrumment cluster

Recommended Posts

it has taken quite some time to find the parts i wanted to assemble, to put together another complete custom catalina instrumment cluster for my car. i had a very nice cluster bezel, i found a nos lucite dial face, nos amp gauge, the fuel gauge is from a 1955 pontiac cause my car is going to be 12 volts and i didn't want to rely on a inline resistor to use a 6 volt fuel gauge, a set of nos oil pressure and water temp gauges for a/c equipped 1954 pontiacs, just the other day, i bought a nos 53-54 pontiac speedometer. so i assemble it all together. charles coker, 1953 pontiac tech advisor.post-32395-143142581674_thumb.jpg

Nice going Charles.

I was fortunate enough to pick up a 53 Speedo Assy from a guy in Canada ( complete )

I

didn't need the speedo but took the opportunity to procure a spare set of gauges for my 53 just in case. post-97131-1431426276_thumb.jpg

Here it is after it landed in Aus eventually....

hi russ, excellent that you found and got such a nice 53-54 pontiac cluster, almost every one that ever shows up on ebay, has the water temp gauge capillary tube and line cut off, making the water temp gauge useless.
