Mudbone
I have a friend building a stock 1956 322 for his Roadmaster. He wants to know what he should aim for as far as valve stem height. I don’t have a 56 manual and I am not sure it is even in the book. Any ideas? Thanks, Mud

JohnD1956
Do you want a valve stem or a valve spring height?
old-tank
Same as 55.Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkI was away from my files last night, and did not intend to give a smart-ass answer...but whatever works .1.525 to 1.550 measured (in inches) from valve cover rail to valve stem tip.In the past the machine shops had this info, but now most will ask YOU for it. If you have an early nailhead (322-264) copy the above specs for any future cylinder head work.Willie
