Need advice locating a rocker arm assy for my 455. Any ideas? Not sure if the engine is a 73 or a 72. It has been rebuilt as a high performance engine by Carlquist Racing Engines in Ct (about 15 yrs ago) Rocker arm tube cracked last weekend.

Breaking a rocker shaft means it's time to pause and carefully do some forensic measuring.

Sounds like you need to find out the specs on the cam and lifters used in that re-build.

Did you just start it? Or, did it just break after a lot of use?

I'm guessing that excessive cam lift or the wrong pushrod or valve springs have stressed the

shaft. I'd be removing the manifold & valve train and start measuring valve lift, measure every pushrod,

& verify you have the right valve springs for the cam.

Hope you find the culprit fast. You want those valves to stay put & not be hitting the pistons.
