Guest Heavy
Need advice locating a rocker arm assy for my 455. Any ideas? Not sure if the engine is a 73 or a 72. Roadmaster75
Need advice locating a rocker arm assy for my 455. Any ideas? Not sure if the engine is a 73 or a 72. It has been rebuilt as a high performance engine by Carlquist Racing Engines in Ct (about 15 yrs ago) Rocker arm tube cracked last weekend.Breaking a rocker shaft means it's time to pause and carefully do some forensic measuring.Sounds like you need to find out the specs on the cam and lifters used in that re-build.Did you just start it? Or, did it just break after a lot of use?I'm guessing that excessive cam lift or the wrong pushrod or valve springs have stressed the shaft. I'd be removing the manifold & valve train and start measuring valve lift, measure every pushrod,& verify you have the right valve springs for the cam.Hope you find the culprit fast. You want those valves to stay put & not be hitting the pistons.
