aussiecowboy
My 27-30 Pontiacs have the split nut style steering boxes, several of which are quite worn. If they are adjusted to have minimal freeplay in the straight ahead position then they bind on turns. If adjusted to be good on turns then there is a lot of freeplay in the middle.Has anyone had success having these types of boxes rebuilt? Is there any tricks for them. aussiecowboy
Interesting, I hadn't even considered doing that. What model car? Was it just a press fit with a woodruff key?
