1940TORPEDO
appears to be a 16" x 4" Edited May 24, 2014 by 1940TORPEDO (see edit history)
keiser31
Looks like an altered Model A wheel (hub), to me. 1930-31 with the 16" rim added. Just a guess. Edited May 24, 2014 by keiser31 (see edit history)
1940TORPEDO
Thats along the lines of what I was thinking. Homemade wheel of some type.
Dave Henderson
Agree, this wheel started life as a 19" wheel for a '30-'31 Model A Ford. It may have been converted during WWII when 16" tires were not as difficult to obtain as were virtually unobtainable 19" ones. Model A's were very popular transportation during the war, cheap, simple, parts were readily available, and easy to maintain. Someone did a lot of work doing this wheel conversion, when 16" '35 Ford wheels were plentiful and fit right onto Model A hubs.
