Pete Phillips
Can anyone identify this? It is about 1/3rd the size of the back-up light pods on late 1940s GM cars. Has a red glass lens. The pod comes to a rounded point at the rear. Not a very good photo, sorry!Pete PhillipsLeonard, Texas

Dave Mellor NJ
Late 30s GM cars had tail lights on the body. This is a 39 Chevy.
wrenchguy
The 1 in question is more this size.http://www.ebay.com/itm/12V-12-VOLT-ORANGE-Allis-Chalmers-Tractor-Bullet-Tail-Light-B-C-CA-WD-G-WD45-/380778005538?pt=BI_Heavy_Equipment_Parts&hash=item58a8234422
keiser31
Yes, the item in question is NOT a standard factory taillight. It is an accessory light.
Dave Mellor NJ
It might be a jump up light for a sealed beam conversion but with a red lens Edited May 14, 2014 by Dave Mellor NJ (see edit history)
Pete Phillips
It's too small for a 1939 Chevrolet or Oldsmobile of that era. The lens is about one inch in diameter, and the pod it sits in might be two inches deep. The glass lens has an indentation for the bezel's screw at the bottom. I think the tractor tail light may be correct. This is rural, farming country around here.Pete PhillipsLeonard, Texas
keiser31
Dodge military parking lights mounted on top of the headlamps are very similar to the item in question except for the lens color.
