rockitdoc
My ' 41 LCC license holder has a long flange welded to the rear of the horizontal member that the license bolts to. This greatly reinforces the attachment support for the flimsy license plate, and I'm wondering if this is oem. Seems way overkill, but if oem, I'll restore it. I'm not describing this very well. Pics if needed can follow. Edited May 9, 2014 by rockitdoc (see edit history)

Guest 39 Pickup
Doc, Those pieces are to cage the square nuts that the license plate bolts/screw go into. Most holders have these until they rust away.Bill

I had to remove the bracket anyway to restore the threads in the lamp holder housing.S
