Guest WEB 38
The thigh extender on the driver 16 way seat seems to be jammed. It clicks and tries to go forward and back but only goes about a 1/4 in. either way. Is there a gear or hinge that could be jammed? I could not find anything on the search fourm. Thanks in advance Bill
Guest Mc_Reatta
Yes, both sides are driven thru gear drive from one motor. One side is run directly by the motor shaft and a square drive cable runs to the gear drive on the opposite side. Bet the cable has come undone so the motor is only able to drive one side which just causes the bolster to hang up.Probably easiest to pull the seat and turn it over and look at it and see what it needs. Post some photos if you do as I don't think there have been a good set posted to help explain seat drive problems on here.
Ronnie
Here are a couple of photos that will demonstrate how the drive cables are connected. I don't have 16 way seats so that cable won't be shown. I have photos to help with seat removal if needed.
Guest WEB 38
Problem solved. The motor was bound up and threads on the drive shafts dirty and gummed up took a lot of lube and coaxing back and forth to finely break loose. sorry no pictures. cant see the motor a metal plate part of the seat bottom in the way. access only thru a couple small holes. Thanks for the help guys. Bill
