stakeside
Looking for a set of seat springs for a 1931 Dodge Express Truck. Set would be a one piece back and two piece bottom.I had the same problem and I decided to have the springs replaced with very dense seat foam. You make a 3/4" plywood base and place a 1 1/4 by 3/4" edging to attach the upholstery to. The base will match the footprint of the two seat pieces that fit in the seat box. The upholstery shop will call me went the cushions are built. I will bring them home to verify thickness prior to the final upholstery.I will keep you informed. Should have some photos in a couple of weeks. You got any pictures of your progress to post here?

vintchry
If you can come up with dimensions, Snyder's Ford parts will make the springs. Believe me the seats will be much more comfortable than foam will ever be.Robhattiesgarage@comcast.net
stakeside
Attached pictures show the foam base for my seats. The foam is a very dense material and will be covered with 1/2 " softer foam. The finished product should done next week. For your information the oak wood is sealed with a poly-seal and painted with semi-gloss black oil base paint. I finished with a lite sanding. The only wood to be natural will the wood slats that are in the roof.
