Guest PontiacDude210
I have changed steering wheels in my 1990 coupe and decided to use one of the older style without the airbag. I clipped and taped the wires along with removing the air bag fuse. Will that cover any potential problems with shorts? Thanks!
Guest Mc_Reatta
Might do a search on how other people did this. They used a resistor to shut off the airbag warning light.
Guest PontiacDude210
I'm not as concerned with the light as with a potential short. If I have removed the risk of another electrical fire, I'm ok with the light for now. I have searched for airbag removal info already, didn't get anything about the resistor anyway. Guest Mc_Reatta
Check out the first 10 or so posts in this thread:http://forums.aaca.org/f116/1990-black-conv-look-steering-wheel-352356.htmlAs long as everything is taped off and not flopping around, you should be OK. Guest PontiacDude210
Thanks for linking me to it. Navigating the forum on a slow Android is a little cumbersome. That looks like the instruction I need to make the b333(inflatable restraint?) code go away.
