Auburn Meet...HURRY

Recommended Posts

Mr. Roth;

After seeing you so often on here, I would like to put a face with the name and impressive list of cars. I know you have a very busy schedule since you are showing and judging,I would be honored if you would stop over and introduce yourself. I am at the other end of the spectrum (class 04-B) from those Cadillacs since I show Crosleys and will have 2 in Auburn!!

  • 2 weeks later...

I registered 2 cars for Auburn, but I am interested in buying one at the auction, so I will only be taking one, my Hotshot which is seekign its Senior. I feel like i should be notifying someone that the one car will not be going. Can anyone advise me??

Dave Anspach,

Sorry for the delay, but we've been on the road, trailering from Louisiana - now in Auburn

1. Please notify the Chief Judge - Herb Oakes - ASAP that you are not showing one of the cars you have registered

2. I also like to put a face with a name, so please stop by the AACA Membership table Friday between 10:00 and Noon on Friday, or track me down at the Membership Roundtable on Friday afternoon

3. I love the Crosley models, and appreciate all cars, trucks bikes, etc - Many years ago I bought a HOTSHOT out of a junkyard in Avanel, NJ - got it running and made it safe enough to drive for a while, but I was only 17 and the prospect of driving longer distances, as well as dating a girlfriend who lived more than 30 miles away made a '49 Pontiac convertible more practical. Back then I believed that I couldn't keep more than one car at a time. The Hotshot was a ball to drive, but was not the right car for NJ winters as an everyday driver - summertime in the Catskill mountains was another story !!

Looking forward to visiting with you - we'll be at the A-C-D Museum this morning, and at the Auction this afternoon.

Oh, and anyone looking for Raffle tickets on the beautiful 2014 Camaro - to support the AACA MUSEUM AND LIBRARY - I WILL BE CARRYING RAFFLE TICKETS !!!

After Friday's weather, I was afraid, but Saturday dawned clear and sunny. There was enough breeze all day to keep the reflection of heat from the blacktop from getting opressive. I got to finally meet Marty Roth as he escorted his charges around doing Hagerty youth judging!! Thanks for doing that Marty, I enjoyed it thoroughly!!! Thanks to the Auctions America people for their hospitality as it was outstanding also. The food at the banquet afterwards was the best I have ever experienced!!! Trailer parking was also very well done and secure. I guess the only negative that I noticed was the number of golfcarts and scooters driving around among the vehicles. I saw a number of near collisions, but the good far outweighed the bad as it gave quite a number of non AACA people an opportunity to see our vehicles and talk!!! A job well done to Steve Moskowitz and the National staff!!!

Thanks David and thanks for bringing you car and letting my granddaughter sit in it! Her smile said it all.

Golf carts are the nemesis of many events. The fall event it is even more crowded but the patrons demand that of the company so we all just have to be careful.

Yes, and a HUGE thank you to Auctions America by RM

Dale;

I seem to recall the name, and if I am not mistaken, one of our local vintage 3/4 midget guys has a car with a Mays body. The design was a little different than the higher rounder "classic" style if it is the one I am thinking of. Of course, my memory is not what it used to be. I have a TQ, but it is a much later design. It is, of course, Crosley powered!!
