Peter P
I have a single running board with the Ford script on it. Comes with brackets as show. I do not know what year it is or which model(s) it was used on. Can anyone ID?
keiser31
Looks to be for a T or TT truck.
D Yaros
Could it be for a tractor?
keiser31
I, personally, have never seen a running board on a tractor.
Layden B
Model T Ford car only not TT Truck or tractor, 1915-20.Boards and brackets are the same left or right side but as the board has a bevel on the front end we can determine this as assembled came off the right side. Fleek
just as a sidenote now that we know these are for a T, you could buy running boards for ford tractors such as the 8N, They came with a small footrest only and it was common to install runningboards on either side of the tranny for better foot support. I do think they were most likely dealer installed aftermarket and do not remember seeing the Ford script on them. But that was a very long time ago, so not positive. Fleek
Just for fun I googled ford 8n and almost all of the tractors had the running boards, so I am now thinking the later ones were probably factory.
D Yaros
I have access to a larger/later year Ford tractor (1953'ish vintage). It has running boards. They do NOT have the Ford script, but are original to the tractor from the factory.
Guest prs519
I do not doubt Layden's time interval, but I am thinking also that this design was retained even later into the 20s and Model A Pickups even, but perhaps these wee different?
Dave Mellor NJ
The 28-29 Model A boards are like these but without the script. The 30-31s are wider in the front and taper back. They all have the diamond plate.
Layden B
The assembly pictured is not later than 1920 as 1921 saw new pressed steel mounting brackets instead of these cast style. The board itself continued to 1922. The 1923-25 board is identical except an added bolt hole where the splash apron attaches. 1926-27 saw a redesign with new dimensions and no longer a large FORD script across the center. Model A boards are different yet and so it went!
