tcslr
the water pump packing nut is brass. This is original. What tool was used originally? Just curious. I think I am damaging the nut.
vintchry
Tom, That uses a spanner wrench that is included in the original tool kit. For the tool you can make one out of steel bar. Email me and I will forward a photo of mine. Common tool and most machine shop supply houses still offer them. HarryJ
You can also use a flat blade screw driver; leveraged on the pump casting and prying the nut via the slot.
